Sometimes outrageous, but always overheard

The other day, within about one mile, while walking near my home, I was unwittingly given some fascinating insights into the way people think and communicate. Their comments to the people they were with or talking to on the phone were uncensored.

They were a mixture of the funny, the fatuous, the false and the fascinating.

So I've decided to start a new column called "Overheard..."

This will be a collection of those comments that are always out there for us to overhear - when we are open to listening and being aware of our surroundings - which will give us a fascinating perspective on the way both strangers and those we know think and speak.

I'd love to get your genuine "overheards" (sic) ... with very brief descriptions of the people, the locations they were in,what they were doing and, of course, what gems they uttered.
