Sandwiches with a smile

In a (British) culture in which, sadly, service is not really practised, there are some gems to be enjoyed. I was at Pret a Manger earlier and was struck by several things:

  • The smiling, warm, friendly and high energy staff, no matter what pressure they were under
  • Their attention to detail to make the place look great and being as helpful and as efficient as possible with customers
  • The resulting buzz about the place
  • And the to-die-for chocolate brownies

It's so good that these staff make such an effort to make everyone feel special and can't be polite and helpful enough. Their atttitude, communication and levels of service are something so many should take note of, certainly during a recession. It does make you wonder what so many workers, at whatever level, are doing. Working Britain take note!
